On Craigs list in my area, Street Bob's are going for 10.5k-14k depending on year. Those were ranging from 05-08. The higher priced ones were from dealers.

IMO, they are about $500-$1000 low, but like others said business as usual. They gotta make a buck too!

No, just business, no one wants to buy anything without a little hagling over the price. The dealer is going to make money off you but he generally offers some sort of warranty when he sells a used bike.

It is a business, they have overhead to cover too... $1000 incentive is intended to move product out the door, so trade-in doesn't do them as much good. I've always felt that you always win selling something on the open market and taking your cash in with you... yes that means you have to pay sales tax on that amount now, but in the long run you almost always come out ahead.

Sounds about right really......they are offering $10,500 but you have to add the $1,000 fo rHOG members so it's really $11,500......they are "asking" $13 and change for the used one but likely won't get it....figure a grand off of that so its really only $12 something they stand to make.....when it all boils down they're really only gonna make about $1,000 to $1,500 on the deal (plus of course whatever they gouge you for on the glide). They are a business after all and have to make a profit to stay in business......if you don't like it you should try selling yours privately and try to get the $13Gs for it.......then pay cash for the Glide - you'll likley get a better deal on both ends if you do it that way.

The one thing you have to look at when trading in vs. selling privately is how much you 'save' on the sales tax (depends on your state). For example, if you lived in NJ, where we have a 7% sales tax rate, you would save $735 at the end of the day, if you traded your bike in on a new one, as the only thing you pay sales tax on, is the difference in the new bike's cost minus your trade-in value. So if you were to sell it privately, you'd have to get $11,235 to 'break even'.

Something else you can consider doing, is pulling some of the mods off and selling them here, provided you've got the stock stuff to put back on.

It's true you never get much of anything back from add-ons. If they're just giving you a set value based on year/model/miles, they may actually give you the same trade value if you give them a stock bike. Take off what mods you can and sell them yourself, and, like others have said, in the big picture their $10,500 offer isn't unreasonable. In the current market I doubt you'd come out much better overall selling the bike yourself.
And if the other option is to just keep your bike, how bad would that be?

10,500 is the exact Kelley's Blue Book dealership trade-in value (bone stock).

I don't know about you, but I don't think I would be offended. I would assume that offer going in on the deal. Basically, business as usual.

Hmmm, when I tried to buy a used '08 FXDC the salesman was showing me all the add ons and that is why it cost more than a stock one...Go figure!
