Default Drilling swingarm

Hey guys,

I am relocating my rear sigs to the back end of the swing arm around the axle (Thanks dpriest!) I've used the chrome hardware set for the handlebar lights.

Now my question is, I drilled 2 small holes (1/10th) on each side (3 on one side because of a broken screw) to mount the hardware. The screws are also very short, no thicker than the swingarm itself to not interupt the adjuster blocks, it seems very strong. However, I was wondering if I'm dealing with any significant loss in integrity. I went riding for about 4 hours at high and low speeds, trying to hit bumps and holes, and it held up like new.

So would these small holes really affect anything in the thick steel? or am I just over concerned.

Seems to me, you shoulda asked that question before you drilled the holes....

However, they probably won't affect the structural integrity of the swing arm, in reality.

However, not something I would do, just for turnsignals..... just me.

haha, it is definitely one of those things I should have asked first, but after much consideration I went for it anyway. I figured the thick steel wouldnt be affected by a few small screws.

ahh, it's just a swingarm, you can just throw on another one if you mess that one up...lol. Just joking, I would like to see a pic of that once you get it finished, sounds interesting.

I'm still waiting on my actually lights, once I get them on I'll post a few pics. I'm just excited to finally get those damn elephant ears off the back of the bike.

I am pretty certain your swing arm will be fine with the drilled holes for turn sigs.
However you will want LED sigs or you will be replacing the filiment type bulbs a lot due to the vibration.
