I have a '96 Wide Glide I bought used. I was told the pipes were V&H, but they aren't. As I was riding to the "Dragon" last week, the front heat shield nearly came off. Two of the three clamp brackets broke. As seen by the arrow on picture # 1, Ken, at his shop, Wheeler's, put on a clamp to get me home.
Picture # 2 shows the bends and their locations of the pipes.
Picture # 3 shows the length of the rear pipe.
Picture # 4 shows the length of the front pipe.
I don't wish to replace the pipes but would just like to find a new heat shield set. I've seen a couple of Dyna's with the same pipes (including one at Deal's Gap), but no one has know the pipe manufacturer. Some people have told me they are stock without the mufflers. I believe the stock pipes have a crossover between the two pipes, but I could be wrong. Any help identifying these pipes would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!
Look like stock headers with straight out home made chrome pipes i'll bet they are real loud!,getting heat shield clamps, those worm clamps, shouldn't be too hard to find. I Like those passenger way up pegs, never seen that!
I would wager a guess that they are cycle shack drag pipes. Part number PHD-149. If so, they will take factory heat shields as was mentioned before. Picture from their website...
