Default lighting issues

My 2008 Fat Bob tail light is not working. All the other lights up front are working. This is the only running light out. I checked fuses and changed the bulb. There is only one fuse for the lights and they checked out fine. My brake light works fine as well. I just want to see what any of you recomend to troubleshoot. Has anyone else had this problem with there Fat Bob?

Check your connections. One under the seat and one behind the light lens. Disconnect them, clean them with electrical cleaner, apply some electrical grease and reassemble. If this does not work, you will have to start chasing the fault with a multimeter to find out where the power supply stops.
Good luck,
Colin.

Hopefully it's something simple. I had my FXDL at the dealer this morning with the low beam out. High beam and all other lights checked out. They found a wire broken in 2 places in the backbone. Glad it's still under warranty!

I have checked all connections that run to the tail light everything seems to be tight. Nothing was loose, even checked under the seat. I need to pick up a multimeter I dont have one. I wonder if botoming out on the bike has caused me to wear out or break one of the wires? let me know if anyone else has advice.

If you bottomed out, I would check the wiring under the fender to see if the tire wore through the insulation.
