Default jiffy stand/kick stand

Having a problem with my stand popping back in place when I mount the bike and kick it back. I put a new spring on today but it seem to have made it worst like there is no tension on it when I kick it up. When I had the spring off it the stand was very loose. It holds the bike in place ok but am I missing something here? I have read where it can be greased but did not find a grease fitting.
Thanks and ride safe.
Tim

Grease that baby up good. It takes a lot if its been dry for a while. It can get a flat spot on the mating surfaces from being dry.

Are you hooking it up in the right spot? My kickstand has never done anything like that....

I took the old spring off and put the new one back on as it was..it is just slow going up to the point that it will actually stop and you have to help it into place with your foot.

I'd guess lube. But, is the spring loose when up? It may be too long or something may be bent. How easily does the stand move with the spring removed? Don't trust that you got the correct spring either. Check the mounting pin for the spring, could be bent.
