hard starting

Default hard starting
maybe normal but after my bike is hot off a ride next start is hard, it cranks normal at first and then makes a wierd sound and then fires up. maybe due to the remapping after stage 1 air cleaner and v&h sideshots. anybody out there experience anything like that?

david.... yes, quite a few have complained of that in the dyna forum. One of the things people have done, is to hit the start button before the fuel pump/engine light goes off...

Could be a multitude of things but a weak battery is up towards the top of the list. I just replaced my three year old battery, I thought it was still plenty good as I keep it on a tender all the time. However I was starting to experience hard starts (clicking, whining noise and weak starts) , especially when the bike was hot. Now that I have a new battery the bike fires up immediately upon hitting the switch, hot or not.

I'd check the terminals. Mine acted like yours & I found my terminal bolts were loose. Tightened them & the problem went away.

Same thing here; when it's been run recently, just flip it to run and immediately hit start. Fires right up.

Same here. Hit the run switch and immediately press start button. Starts right up. Learned that here on HDF.
