I'm VERY happy with my HD too... And I also feel that some people will want to keep their bikes stock while others will do the whole kit - big bore, air cleaner, PC tune, ect ect... I feel that my HD is there for me to cruise... enjoy the ride (even though I know that it's got great get up and go, with long legs if I need to put them to use). If I just wanted to get somewhere as fast as possible on a bike, I'd have bought some rocket looking thing and rode it while being bent over like a pretzel.

Also, those Victory bikes do nothing for me in the visuals department. IMHO They look like some cheap bondo job. But then again, some people really like them. To each their own I suppose...

+1. I'm not complaining. I love my bike. Yea, other bikes might make more power or whatever, right off the floor, but they're still not a Harley-Davidson.

We have a lot more parts available for HD's and it will always be that way. Call Triumph and try to buy any part from an older bike and see what happens.
Yeah...and go to the HD boutique and find a part for a Shovel!

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my HD too but it would be nice if Harley wasn't so greedy.

The grass is always greener.....
The stock HD is plenty fast, when I can twist the throttle and be up to 80 from a dead stop in a matter of seconds, even 2up, quickly and easily pass pretty much any cage out there that needs to be passed, what more do I need?
My days of racing are long since over, now I just enjoy the ride.

I wonder if you never told anybody the numbers how many folks would be upset just from the ride. Some would, but not that many I bet. I ride pretty aggressively at times, and I'd like a little more punch once in a while, but I rarely feel like my bike is weak. And the way most others I know ride, more power would be a total waste. That goes for better suspension and brakes, too. I think the percentage of riders that really push their bikes to the limit is tiny, and it's mostly a "mine is bigger than yours" thing with horsepower, etc. I regularly ride with guys with much faster bikes (M109 for example), and I often have to sit and wait on them at the end of certain stretches of road because they take it so easy. But they still talk about how fast their bikes are...boys being boys, I guess.

OTOH, I have slightly upgraded all of those parts of my bike (go, stop, handle), and when my money gets right again, I'll likely do more to all of it. Once again, boys will be boys.
