Default RE: Black apes?

The month to get them made was a jab at my dealer.

I am so frustrated. I had the bike on order a month and a half before I received it. It was late by a week, I gave them the bars to measure the lengths to order cables about a week after i ordered the bike. Part of my deal when I purchased the bike was I also purchased the install of the bars.

Well here it is now a month after I have taken possesion of the bike and still no clutch cable(all other parts are in). They always tell me 1 more week when I go in so it seems that If I order the cable myself it would take the same ammount of time for them to get it so it would be just better to wait. They have one on order from drag specialties that they tell me will be in on the 30th. If it isnt in by then I will be asking for a refund and just do the work myself and order a cable and have it shipped to my house.

My dealer sux and I will never go back to them for anything except waranty work. All my friends warned me I should have listened.

Rant over...

Im glad to hear the bars are only about an inch above the shoulders on the 18"s. Im 6'2" so they should be about right for me. Law here says not above shoulders but I should be OK. They dont seem to mess with us too much in Florida for being slightly above.

Thanks a bunch for all the input and the kind words! I'm gonna mull this over some more and maybe find some good magazine pics. I've got some studying to do.

Dad just got a new custom C&C seat for his Fatboy. I REALLY like it! I'll post some pics in the General Discussion forum later tonight. I might have to order a seat before I do the apes.

I've been meaning to set up a gallery but I wanted to get the pipes on first and then find a nice background. Hopefully I'll have time to do that this week, or at least this weekend.

Aside from the Nash Gimp Hangers the other handle bars I'd personally consider are Paul Yaffe Monkey Bars. Yeah sure they're expensive, but they look pretty damn good, especially the taller ones with the more exadurated curves.

Those are cool. Those would go really well with a blacked-out denim Bob running black crack pipes. I'll keep them in mind. Not cheap though, $400 raw. I could get them black ceramicoated locally for under $100.
