fxdx gas tank

I'm trying to find an fxdx gas tank for an '02. Will an '05 tank fit on an '02? Are most fxdx tanks interchangeable?

I put an '04 tank on my '01; had to drill and tap a hole in the top of the frame for the back mounting bolt. The "suffix" (ie: 12345-"79") on the HD pn is the year that part was introduced; the example part was first used in 1979.....

Just picked up a Tank for a 2000 FXD I am rebuilding. For an exact fit you need a 97-03. You can make others fit with some modifications. Bit of a PITA to find outside of a dealer since that tank only fits 2 models. If you needed a Wide Glide tank, you can find hundreds.
