I thought about the lindby bar, but the description for the Multibar said it was for the Dyna Wide Glide model. I saw NOTHING listed under any of the Lindby bars that state it would specifically fit his 08 Street Bob. That's why I didnt mention it. But if he would call, maybe they can direct him to the proper model number.

I couldn't find it either so I called them. They told me it would work so I ordered it. They were good people to work with I recommend them. I believe they had a couple different styles.
Hubby has them on his 06 Heritage. The other day, one of the rubber foot rests came off the bike. Naturally, guard was warranty, but we called to "order" a replacement foot rest.
Well, the gal said they actually changed the rubber part in 2007, so in order for our bike to look right, she was sending out a PAIR of the new rubber ones at NO CHARGE.
So I can attest that these people are FIRST CLASS all the way.
Lindby Linbars, they make it chrome, look a little bit like the Texas, that is what is on my bike in the picture. They also make a multi-bar in chrome or blacked out. The Linbars have rubber rings which give you another place to strech out your legs while riding. Attached is a link for a better picture.
Crash bars in my opinion are all about safety for your legs (and maybe a little about preventing damage to the bike). When these damn dogs run out in front of you, can you imagine hitting one at 40 mph with your right leg. It would break like a pretzel. These things are "protectors" for your legs. Should you hit a box or anything else in the road that fell from a truck, it'll take most of the impact allowing you to "ride another day."
Its sorta like a helmet for your legs. 99% of the time they're ugly, 1% of the time they pay for themselves 20 times over.
