ordered a service manual and I was thinking to do it my self !!! but i'm not really sure about the Torque adjustment ?? and were to get the oil and which one's !!! Mind you I live in the middle of no where on an Island in Greece away from any civilazation !!!
On my FatBob 2009 I have V&H Big radius and Stage 1 ...... so that will affect my TRorque ?? I have no Idea !!! can anyone help ??
Oh by the way I have managed to fix my lights !! low Beam 1 and High Beam 2 !!! a good friend from OZYland told me how !!
Do the service at 1000 miles/1600km. Do the service yourself and save yourself some money for other things for the bike. Your service manual will recommend what oil to use for bike. As for torque specs the service manual will have those also and no the V&H Big Radius and stage 1 do not effect the torque for the nuts and bolts. You may want to invest in a torque wrench and motorcycle jack/lift if you do not have them.
Get your manual and then you can read exactly what to do for each service... Then your gonna find you need a few other tools, like belt tensioner tool (suprising how tight its supposed to be). Get some good torx and allen head sockets so you can torque them down with a torque wrench... But the service manual will pretty much spell out what each item is and how to do it...
You will save a good bit of money doing it yourself... Actually it will pay for a jack and a few tools. A few services and you will have saved 1ooo bucks or so...
I doing the stealer for the first two years. Don't want to hear anything if I need a warrenty issue. I still check my torques and change my fluids in between. Once the warrenty is done, it's all about a Saturday morning.
