To get the same final gear ratio you would have to add 5 teeth to the rear pulley, larger belt, and clearance issues perhaps around the rear pulley depending on your setup.
This way is most likely less expensive in the long run and perhaps easier.
All this was discussed in the earlier thread on this subject.

I always heard 1 tooth in front was the same as 12 teeth on the rear.

Default Transmission Pulley Change

Would be interesting to see what kind of difference it would make to the 0-60mph and 0 -100mph, time over stock.

While I was at my local indy that always has good stuff on the shelves...I saw he had some pulleys. I couldn't find a 30t or 31t but did find a 32t. Im sre if I had the time to go through his boxes I could find one cheap.

Yes I have the tool from Georges, but I don't plan on selling it. I have a list of people in line for me to help do this for them. I would recommend getting the tool and the pulley locking tool also if funds are available. George's has super fast shipping.

It too bad more of us don't live closer together so we could help each other out with tools ect..

Gotta be a way... My pipe wrench wouldn't fit around the nut... and I need something I can use a torque wrench with to reinstall the nut... hmmm...

nice pics **** thanks,

never had mine down that far yet. But i got a question something i noticed in the pic and like i said never had mine down that far.

Look at the last pic and the swing arm bolt in the pic it looks off center to the hole is that normal or is the bushing wearing causing the shaft and nut to ride up high center.

Just curious here.

Hmmm... Interesting. I had not noticed that and I'm not sure how to answer that question either. I'm at work and the bike's at home. As I was posting the pictures yesterday I was thinking "Someone's gonna see something in these pictures that I haven't noticed"... But I was thinking more along the lines of the Bee Gee's poster hanging on the wall in the background or the sex-swing hanging from the ceiling or... I KEED! I KEED! There's only right at about 8,900 miles on the bike. I sure hope that wouldn't wear out that quickly. Anyone?

I just ordered the socket from George's Garage. When I'm finished using it I would love to get some of my $ back from it. I paid $96.50 total for it including shipping. Maybe we could work something out where I resell it to you for a little less, then when you're finished with it you could resell it to another forum member for a little less, etc, etc...? I can't stand the thought of paying that much $ for a tool that is likely a single-use tool. This tool is like a guy's equivalent of a prom dress. You pay a lot for it, you only use it once, and you're basically getting f*cked.

It would be nice to say get a group of guys together, chip in and buy the 'one-use' tools. Then when each person is done with it, send it on to the next.

This tool falls into that, and also the cam tools (locking pin for tensioners, sprocket lock, bearing removal, bearing installer, cam press-in tool that protects the end of the cams; I don't remember what its called off the top of my head).

I've been thinking about this for awhile. I think most of us are trustworthy and would do the right thing. We could setup a group paypal account to buy the tools from. That would also aid in keeping track of who paid what.
