Default 09 Street Bob, vs 2010 street bob

I have to say I love my 09 bob, but I am so f...ing Ticked off that they blacked out the tran/prim for 2010, and I now have to either order them black and pay out the rear for all the parts leaving the inner workings grey, or powder coat them and still pay out the rear for a feature that should have been on the 09. Does anyone know what an approx cost to black powder coat?

I have an 09 also but I look at it differently. Mines more unique know They also don't have the pewter denim for 2010. I guess it's a crap shoot as to when you buy. They do sell all the covers, you can look them up on H-D's website.

Oh, hit up member JRK5892 aka powderpro. He'll hook you up with powder, I haven't had anything done by him yet but all his work looks good and other members have been satisfied.

Good luck

I was waiting for this to come up. Grey engines for only one year. Hey maybe it will be a super-collectors item someday.

At first, I did not like the silver cases on the 09's and since I was going to buy a Bob...I was actually looking at the FB's since they still had the blacked out engine.

However, after I found this site and saw a few 09's tricked out (tweekin' comes to mind) I just fell in love with the silver cases.

I could have had it either way and been happy. It's your ride man, make it your own. That is what I plan to do!

you bought the bike knowing it had a silver engine....now youre pissed off that they arent silver anymore. you knew that when you bought the bike, to make it black would cost an arm and a leg. so really whats to complain about. the silver engine really aint bad now that they been around a while.

I like my silver engine... it does make it stand out as being different in a sea of black....

I didn't like the silver engines on the 09 Bobs when they came out and now I still don't like them. Glad they went back to black for the 2010 models.

You're probably the reason they went back to black. I know there was a lot of complaints about the non black out cases for the 09s. I myself felt lucky I bought an 08.
