07 Street bob Surgeing
hi all, When cruising in the middle of the RPM range in any gear i can feel my bike surge slightly, the rpms dont change and the sound of the motor doesnt change, My bike has a SERT, V&H Big radius 2into1 and a heavy breather,Just had it dyno tuned and it runs great,95 torque and 83hp, it has done the surge thing for a long time, any ideas?

i was thinking maybe it was the clutch,which brings me to my next topic,i have the 07 dyna manual, and followed the procedure for adjusting the clutch, got on it started it put it in gear and the clutch didnt even engage, went nowhere, did it again by the book and even came on here and watched the video for doing the adjustment still nothing, had to back the adjuster screw out 3 1/2 turns to make it work, the manual and video said only 1/2 to 1 turn. i dont know what to think, it only has 4,400 miles on it.

Mine was a bad fuel pump.
At certain RPM ranges it would surge. The start up whine from the pump also started to sound sick and uneven when it was priming.

I had a car with the same problem. Since HD uses a throttlebody fuel injection it could be the same problem. the throttle plate was not closing completely and causing the engine to surge. It could be the same problem. Hope it helps.

I had a surge just off idle from day one. The XiEDs didn't fix it but I was able to eventually tune it out with the mastertune tuner.
Some shops will tune for drivability and should have seen the surge, others just work the WOT and throttle response.
