I picked up a 53511-06 detachable solo rack to see if I could find a big enough hammer to make it fit on my FatBob. I just don't like saddle bags and wanted something that could handle some weight. I also put the 53964-06 hardware kit on.
The rear legs of the rack was almost wide enough to fit but the front was about an inch narrow. There are probably a dozen ways to spread the legs, but I put a bottle jack between the front legs and was able to spread it enough to fit, which spread the rear just enough too.
The rack is a springy kind of steel so it needed to be spread several inches to end up about an inch wider when relaxed. I'll try to get some better outdoor photos, the enclosed is taken inside.... and the bike is dusty.... but I'm drinking a beer at the moment.
There are no clearance issues beside the leg width, plenty of clearance to the fender, and the usual clamp interference with the reflectors.
Sweet..........................:ico n_headbang:
I have been looking at that rack as well but am using the original seat, does there appear to be enought room under the rack for the seat to clear??

It will touch/compress the stock seat. There is about 1/2 in clearance between the rails and fender near where the rear seat bolt would be, only and inch or so clearance toward the front.
Mine came without the rear reflectors, looks solid , is it QD?
Yes quick detach, but I need to adjust it a bit to make it easier to detach.... on the other hand they way it is its not going to rattle. I just wanted something solid to tie luggage to and remove for every day.. Its very solid, most of the bars are 1/2 inch diameter, you could probably lift the bike with it.

When you post some more pic's could you take one from overhead.................
Thanks
