Thanks I think it turned out pretty good. I took the band off, roughed it up with 300 grit sandpaper, put some 1/8" pin stripping tape on the ridges. Painted it with some wrincle black then peeled the pin strippng tape off. the ridges have the same spacing as the fins on the motor and covers.

Some black added along with some chrome. More of each to be aded in the future.
