I cant believe you guys have to wait for your bikes. Must be different parts of the country. I have always thought MN was one of the states that had the most bikes per capita. You go into almost any dealership here and get whatever make model color ect... and leave with it that day.
I dont understand why your dealerships dont have any bikes.
Thunder Mtn has tons of bikes just not in the color I wanted and all the Bob's in denium they've been ordering have been selling before they come in so it become awaiting list of sorts. I could have had the bike the same day but I wanted to couple more days for more funds. Called em back....gone. Got a call a few days later. They told me one is in. I called them back to take it...gone already. Someone backed out of one that came in so they called me...gone again by the time I called back.....lol. So now I'm on a few weeks here waiting for my original order.
And just a litte fyi...when i was ordering my exhaust and wife setup the parts rep told me to never buy a HD download that their not very good and if I had the money to only get the SERT and have them dyno it. I don't know, I just thought was interesting
My dealer was kind of like that too. Whenever I would call for an update, they would refer to the "system" or the "computer system" and never really seemed to have their **** together.
do u live in the middle of nowwhere ? Around here if one dealer doesnt have it or doesnt want to get right away, I go to the next one, and so on... If they want the business they will get it for you. But there is a lot of competition around here between dealerships so they dont want ya going to someone else.
Most people usually take there bikes back to the dealer that they bought them from to get them worked on or buy new parts from, so I know they want the business or they should anyway. The crock about there are plenty of people to buy them forget you attitude doesnt fly around here because of the competition and the amount of after sale money a dealer will make on most sales is pretty high.
Why do you think they always have the free sat BBQ and get togethers. Because they like you ? Hell no, chances are you are gonna buy something from the store. The dealer I bought my bike from is always having meetings and get togethers. IE... free food clowns for kids ect... They couldnt tell me how many times people walk in there with a 4 or 5 year old bike and buy a newer model.
interesting day last night...I called the dealer because I havent heard from my sales rep and it's been almost another full week since my bike was supposed to be in. For two days I've called and called, left msgs but he's never call back. I got the manager on the phone and he basically told me the rep had just been let go (go figure) but so and so would be happy to finish your purchase, etc.
Make a long story short....my bike has been sitting there for a few days now, even has all the accessories I ordered. So tonight i'm picking her up! Now I just have to come up with a plan to weight in my favor for some swag or something because of the crap service from this rep..lol
Similar when I picked up my bike two months ago, dealer gave me a 500.00 credit at the store for what ever I wanted. Didnt last long but was appreciated.
So just an update to my prev hell....or so I thought.
It's been a week now since I took my bike home. Found out that the rep I had, had flaked out on dozens of other customers. Mixing orders up, no call backs, etc, etc. Needless to say he wasnt around when I went to pick up. I was upset still more happy than anything that my bike was ready...lol, so I kinda forgot about everything, of course. While signing my paperwork the manager came in and asked to redo everything. To my surprise the $1500 in accessories was now free of charge and so was the labor for the forward controls. Um....ya...pretty stoked at this point. Only down fall was that my smoke tail light was on backorder..oh well.
