Since I am a horse "supporter" I will defend my rag. Yes they bashed all the new HD models. One of the Motto's of the magazine is "F*ck the Factory." The street bob, WHICH I LOVE BTW, is the Motor Company's attempt to cash in on current trends. As expected they produced a bike that would appeal to a new group of buyers. Personally I had never of thought of buying a factory bike until I saw the Street Bob. HD is a Corp who has stock holders who want good returns. Their marketing department just has to watch TV and see what the current trend is on Biker Build off and build a bike somewhere along those lines. As soon as 100k billet bikes starting getting beat at shows by innovative nostalgic looking bikes, everyone wanted a piece of the action. Not just The Factory, but custom shops that had never built anything but long *** molded, airbrushed, super fat tired abortions that you can hardly ride started building "bobbers." Most of them look like kit bikes that someone threw together and painted with a spray can. They get that "old school" look that way I guess. Yes the Horse bashed HD and they talk smack about coontails and HOG, but the street bob was built to look like a "old school" custom. It is the factory's version of a Horse bike imo. If you build something like what I build, of course I am going to judge it and point out where it is flawed in its attempt at what I have mastered.

Speaking of which, has anybody seen Bourget's new bobber? Shameful!
One reason (THE REASON) I posted my comments on skanky dames in those bike mags is because motorcycles, motors, frames, wheels, etc. is where I find one of my escapes from my problems. And recently my big problems have been women related. So when I open up a magazine or chopper book to relax and see new ideas and creations the last thing I want to be reminded of is a female. They are the anti-bike. Often they are what would keep a guy from owning or working on a motorcycle and there they are in the same picture with one! That's like having a picture of a fully automatic heckler and koch G3, with an ATF agent posing beside it. Here's what you want and here's what keeps you from ever owning it or enjoying it. If I started a magazine called Cheeseburger Monthly I wouldn't have a Cardiologist in the centerfold. I know bikes and women go together in a "fable-ish, rebel and his gal" kind of way but my bike has a single seat on it and damn if I feel like changing that for anybody right now.
they made negative comments about what i was doing to my bike, i will let it go at that, but i will not buy their rag anymore.
LOL, given the types and styles of bikes that appear in The Horse, I can imagine they cut on you pretty good. Don't take it personal, that's what sells the rag to begin with.

I understand where you're coming from. I was a truck nut long before I was interested in motorcycles. It always pissed me off the way they always had some bikini chick between me and the trucks. I was reading truck rags because I was interested in seeing trucks, not bikini *****. They have magazines for that too. I guess you just really shouldn't need naked chicks to sell magazines about trucks, guns, motorcycles or anything else. For some reason they don't bother me so much in the motorcycle rags.
Well I'm not busting on the rag at all. I have had a suscription for 4 years now and will have a subscrition for another 4 or longer. I could careless about the **** they say about Factory bikes or the factory! I bought my bike for me and nobody else. I wasn't gonna listen to other people when I have to make the payments and do all the riding.
I would love to build my own sure, But lack of funds, and other stuff life gets you into, plus I just don't think I have the talents to build one. So when the Bob came out I knew I could throw a downpayment on it and ride off! Cheers
