Default Oil Change Issues

So went down to the local Walmart to get my Mobil V-twin oil so i could do an oil change to prepare me for the 1000 mile trip I'm about to undertake this Wed. So i drain my oil and proceed to put the first quart in.....no issues. I twist off the sealed second quart of oil and start to pour it in. About half way through pouring it in, I notice the oil is a milky brown color and seems to be chemically seperated. First of all...what do u guys think could have caused this? So i proceed to start the bike for a few minutes so i could warm it up so that I have a better chance of getting that sheit to drain correctly.....was this a mistake? So I go down and get another couple of quarts from Walmart and proceed to do the oil change with no issues. My main concern is the fact that I'm about to undertake a trip with it in the back of my mind that I poured some dirty crap in to my bike....am I overly concerned? Anything else i could do? Another thing is that i didnt go get another new filter, I just tried to drain that crap out of the one I had just bought. Looking for a lil peace of mind.

Yeah, I did. But if you do a dry oil change vs. wet one you add 1/2 quart more....so potentially theres still a half quart in there ( at least mixed with the first good quart i put in). Just showed my cousin a lil of the oil I didnt finish putting in and first words out of his mouth were.."what the hell!"

I read a thread not long ago about somebody buying Mobil 1 from Walmart that had either water or used oil in the jug....Forget which one new. At any rate, I'm sure getting the cap off without breaking the seal is easy with a little help from a thin screwdriver.

Next time that happens don't start the bike, just drain what you have and start over. When you start the bike it cycles the oil through the motor. Still shouldn't have a problem, but if you are really concerned it doesn't take that long to do another oil change and and if that gives you peace-of-mind then it was money well spent.

Thanks!

dry = brand new engine without fluids
wet = engine drained of old fluids (still some residual left in engine)
