Default Why won't it start?

I need to get out and ride, but...
I have a '93 FXR 90th Anniversiary. I Raised the handlebars and this meant I had to change Clutch cable, Brake line, Throtle/Idle Cables, Switches, and Idiot lights. Well, I took my time doing this and the bike probably sat 3 months without being crunk. I actually finished wiring the the Idiot Lights saturday (don't worry, all wiring is correct - I've done this before) and decided to give it a quick crank. Well, when I turn the Ignition switch on, then press the starter button, nothing happens. I mean nothing. Period. The only thing that happens is when I switch the ignition on , I hear what sounds like a relay click. It clicks, waits about 5 seconds, then clicks again, then a second later clicks, waits another 5 seconds and repeats the cycle. During the one second click, the lights dim, then on the second click, they come back up and stay normal (during those five seconds). It'll continue this untill I switch the Ignition back off.
Any ideas? BTW, the battery is brand new and I did ride it a while with the new battery before I changed handlebars. Could the battery have completely died by sitting 3 months?
Any help would be appreciated, I NEED TO RIDE.
Thanks

Red face It won't start

That's good to know about the battery (it's died), but it doesn't address the "clicking" sound (like relay or something).
Thanks for the battery info though. That was some stuff I never knew.

Your battery is nearly dead. You just have enough juice to click the relay or solenoid. Charge your battery and then give it a try.

Or push it. You have a carbed bike, so you should be able to push start.

Although the battery was brand new it might not have been fully charged when it was fitted to the bike. If it was too low the alternator may not have been able to fully charge it. If that was the case it would almost certainly have died over the 3 month period and that's your problem.

Get a motorcycle battery charger, or better still a tender and fully charge it.

Don't use a car charger as they pump in too many amps and overheat the battery and distort the plates and ruin it. I made that mistake once and it even melted the battery casing.
