I hade a new tire put on the back of my low rider and they put the weights on the crome wheel and not on the spokes like they were from the factory is this normal?
They put on adhesive rim weights that they use on cast wheels. Personally, I think the crimp on weights for spoke wheels stick out lick a sore thumb ( I have them on mine).
Doesn't sound quite right. Ask the dealer for spoke weights. Most spoke weights have a sharp edge and a round edge. I thought I saw a TSB to install the spoke weights with the round edge against the rim. This method isn't supposed to cut into the chrome and cause rust.
I heard those adhesive weights fly off like a bullet.
Not if you clean the surface first. I have them on mine and they are just fine. I also have them on my Jeep, its the only weight that will stay on the Jeep. Clamp on's get torn off by rocks and tree roots while wheeling it. I have to use stick on's just behind the face of the wheel. If they can stay on the jeep while offroading, I think they will be ok on the bike.

Yep, and often. But I have a Deuce wheel on back ,so I have no choise...
This last time I throughly cleaned with alcohol, and put them on with 3M's industrial double stick.. So far so good..
If it happen's again I'll try theDon and Jake's idea with the Dyna Beads.. My Indy really advised against, but I didnt get into it with him as to why...
I knew my indy guy, and he didn't have spoke weights. He used the stick on weights, but said he'd order the spoke weights for me. I told him only if they fly off... And 5K+ miles later, they are still holding on.
