leaking gasket
It has not worked right since.
Yesterday I tried again removing the five screws, and pulling out the
unit with float. I replaced it after making an adjustment, turned on and
had what I thought was an accurate reading empty.
I went to fill it up and it still only reads less than half full.
That's when I noticed gas drizzling out of the bottom of tank.
It appears I took the gauge out one to many times and it was leaking
out past the gasket and running down the wire run tube and out the bottom
of tank right next to a nice hot motor.
I was starting to panic when I asked the attendant for a hose and gas can.
I siphoned out a gal and 1/2 and it stopped.
Make sure if you ever change out your gauge that you inspect that gasket
or better yet replace with new.
If I was not to notice that leak and rode of it would have blown back on the motor
with disastrous results.
