One morning i started her up and she coughed and the again when i took off... then the other day while rideing she did it again... its comeing up on the 1000 mi. service so i was wondering if anyone else had this happen.... also my exhaust is really discolored ...my buddy thinks its running to lean... and i'm sure i have the 8 mm injectors..
I had the same problem, except my bike started running bad. To take off I had to rev the engine up and when I slowed down the check engine light came on.
I am having the same thing happen. '06 SB. Took it into the dealer this weekend and service tech said that I wasn't getting the rpm's up enough before shifting and that can cause the same symptoms. I asked him about the 8' injectors as mine has 8' and he said that it was mostly a problem with the touring bikes. He said to try to get the rpm's up before shifting for a while and if it continues bring it in. I'm thinking his answer is bogus, I get the rpm's up before shifting and don't lug it at all. I'm going to take it back in this weekend and insist they change to 25'. I've got the service bullitin and will get it taken care of next week.
yaa sounds like a copout to me .. i lug mine around corners sometime i only had mine cough one time . taking off from a stop light. i only have 500 miles on my bike but it has not done it since .. i guess i better stop lugging the corners because if she coughs then i might dump it .. coughing at the wrong time can be a saftey issue. make sure your dealer realized that u are aware of this. o by the way i have 25' injectors in my bike and she still coughed

I just had 25 degree injectors put on this morning, rode about 200 miles (just myself, my bob and the highway) and every once in awile it still coughs. When I told the dealer about the service bulletin he said we will get them changed. After it coughed a couple of times I called the stealer back and he said the new ethanol gas could be causing it to do the coughing. I don't know how true that is!!
When I told them it coughed and stopped in the middle of Hwy 70 and almost got me run over, they changed them out. The injectors are not the only thing. There is a canned download that they were suppose to put in it.
I have run it over 2500 miles and it has coughed once, and I probably did that to it.
