Finally got a hold of Mustang tech for help with problem getting seat installed. Couldn't get it to slide far enough forward for the rear tab to line up with the fender nut insert. His explanation was that when the seat slides into the forward mounting slot it presses down on the first two rubber bumpers on the seat pan. The further forward the more downward pressure on the bumpers to the point that they just stop moving. He told me to start the seat and then, standing on the right side of the bike, start karate chopping the seat about 4 inches back from the front. This will cause the bumpers to jump a bit and will allow the seat to move into position. I had to wait for my son to get off work and then between him karate chopping and me pushing the seat moved into position. Haven't had a chance to go for a ride yet but it sure feels comfortable and has moved me forward just a scoash.
Thats good info that should be in the installation instructions. I had a hell of a time getting mine in too but finally prevailed after beating it by armstrong.

Putting a little Vaseline on those two front bumpers works, too.

I mentioned that to him and he advised it's not a good idea to put petroleum jelly on rubber. He suggested instead, dish soap, saying that it will simply wash away when you wash the bike.
