I have been there several times so my advice is to:
-drive w/sanity
-avoid those who drive insanely
-it is much busier on the weekends than the weekdays
-watch out for big trucks on the blind curves
-lots of state troopers so watch your speed
-smile for the cameras from killboy.com!
-you must visit the "tree of shame" at the bottom of the hill
-be prepared to scrape some floor boards and have an awesome time!!!!
Relax and have a good time...
Don't rush the ride...
Watch for cops...
Smile for the many pictures that will be taken by the photograhers from killboy.com etc...
Get a tshirt or two...
Ride it at least 2 times per day or more if you can...
I rode it in June...awesome experience. Can't wait to do it again.
I'll be up there. Will be my 5th time up there. Heading that way on 9/12 and staying until 9/19. My advice:
1- Best to ride it during the week, not on the weekend.
2- Stay on your side of the yellow line. If you can't then that means you're going too fast so slow down.
3- Most important of all. If you see a '09 Denim Black Street Bob coming up from behind you FAST then don't panic... just hug the right side of the lane and let me on by.
Each one of these guys couldn't have said it better. I live about 30-40 minutes from the Dragon and try to ride it at least once a week. Just enjoy, be safe, and follow those guys advice!
Shag67 I will look out for you. I will be staying at the Two Wheel Inn 17th to 19th.
Thanks a lot all of you. I can't wait to do this. I will post pics. when I return.
Cool. Tell Barry and Linda (owners of Two Wheel Inn) that ex-Warrior-rider Travis says hi. Nice place to stay! You made a great choice. Nice having a little garage of your own right beside your room while you're there. I wish I could convince more of my friends that Two Wheel Inn is THE place to stay while you're visiting the dragon.
