Just curious; what do you do for the mounting stud on the bottom side of the rear fender? I'm watching ebay for an FXDXT rear fender to get the parts for "spares".....

Default I dunno

I just got the bags, so i haven't worked out the latch pin set up yet, if i could get a really good pic of one i'm sure i could make them, trying to go through the stealership to get the parts(schitty!) and have found them to be severely lacking in the info dept, all i got on the phone was "i dunno dude, maybe if you bring em down, we can look through some books and stuff." Brilliant!

According to my parts manual, it looks like there's a pin, 7439 and a protector 59511-01 that go into the release on the bag. I am not with my bike right now, or I'd take a good close-up pic for you. I know when I re-did the strut mounts for the bags so I could also QD the rack/backrest, the pin just threaded off the side of the fender and I added an extension (the bag sits out a bit further to allow room for the rack) Anyhow; I'll be able to take pics Mon PM if you need 'em...seen it done on a Wide Glide once, with a small bracket under the licence plate; was real clean...on the FXD style fenders there's a support insert on the inside of the fender as well...pics later, I guess...
