sissybar part #51161-10 fits perfectly on the 09 Fatbob. Use the 54097-10 docking hardware but keep in mind I bought it...got home and realized I was 2 long bolts short and had to come up with them. I dont know if the kit was short or the wrong kit...i had already driven home and wasnt going back. I had the bolts so everything worked out.

im gonna figure out how to post a pic.......
Man, I am right down the road from you, just north of Austin, and head up around Ft. Hood all the time... We should get together sometime so I can check that thing out...
I use the 08 back rest w/o that big *** pad on it and have the luggage rack attached too. Helps with the bag when I travel. I don't see many FB's down this way, how about up there?
King - I'm all for it. just send a message when you wanna ride.....planning a trip down your way this weekend. Not too many FBs around here....mostly dressers and Glides.
Thanks for the pics Thurman. Did you have any problem installing the sissy bar. My buddy tried to put one on his Low Rider and the tire got in the way? Did you have to drill holes or did it replace existing holes? Your bike looks good. Thanks again.
Frank....absolutely no Mods done. Just put it on through existing fender and strut holes. easy....
Thanks for the compliments....its one thing at a time with this bike....next is a professional hookin up my seat for me. That was my lame *** attempt to use canvas from a parachutists weapons case. It looks horrible...need a pro
G'day fellas,
I had the same prob here in Oz. I bought the '08-'09 detach kit (it came with the extra bolts), so I'm hoping that when the sissy bar arrives it should clip straight on.. just letting you guys know... cause i think that kit you bought was for the wide glide, and as the blinkers are to be moved on that model you don't get the long bolts... ?? Sound right? Still can't figure what they changed on the rail for '10 ?????? anyone figure it out yet?
09 Fatbob here......just put that sissybar on yesterday...fits and looks great. The docking hardware they recommend in the description will leave you 2 bolts short, literally. At least I had to come up with two longer bolts on the backend. I had some lying around so it was no problem and took about 15 total minutes to put the whole thing on. May want to ask them about that if you plan on buying it. As far as the light relocation kit....you don't need it. If I could figure out how to post a pic I would. I could email you a pic or two....
I would appreciate the pictures as I am looking at it as well.
Thnx
J
I just bought the new one-piece sissy bar-51161-10.
The dealership said I needed docking hardware kit-53961-06....but like others have found out it's short 2 long bolts. It also has other items you don't need.
Since it's Sunday, the dealer ship is closed so I can't to go back and get 2 more bolts to finish the job.
I'll post a picture when the job is done. I think it's going to look tight.
Just put the sissy bar (#51161-10) on my 2009 Fatbob, no problem with the fit. The docking hardware you need is (#53964-06A). It came with all four bolts and proper mounting hardware. I think some of the owners had the wrong kit and that's why they were short. Everything fit great with no problems. Mills H-D in Burlington hooked me up, they were the only dealership in the area that was able to help me. Sorry it took so long, the sissy bar was not in stock and I finally got a minute to put it on.
