How many Bob owners are relatively happy with the bike as it is? Seems like everyone is loading 'em up with windsheilds, saddlebags, seats, chrome doo-dads,etc. I thought the whole logic of the Bob was the stripped down-no frills, old school street bike look.I love mine as is....just needed the Stage1 and pipes to make her sound/perform better.I've seen Bobs lately that look more like full dressers.......to each his own i guess........
Thats why I chose the Bob, now, she wants to ride with me....2 up seat. and that detachable windshield is really nice on the highway...windshield. Nice to be able to change foot positions on long rides....highway pegs and on and on...maybe I should have bought a Ultra....lol
yeah, I can see how one's riding situation has changed and now they need the seat. But I dont think the wind shield is helping the passenger all that much. I am a young guy, but very old school mind. I am just all for the wind in the face, bare bones bikes. Just love the chopped down bikes.
ya i loved the look of the stock bobber to,but i have had mine for a year now.and have added to my bike to.but i travel alot to .i did the mods so i can strip it down when iam in the city.and tour it up for the long haul.i do alot of two up riding with the wife alot to.so why buy a 25,000 tour bike when you can make a 13,000 bike into one and strip it down for the city.here is a pic toured up and striped down.takes 5 minutes to uninstall.
My windshield works great, but I had to remove it yesterday cause I'm tired of looking at it. It's a quality piece of equipment, but it just doesn't fit. I'll certainly use it for long rides, but I modified my riding goggles to seal out all air and when I combine my new "custom" black goggles with ear plugs, it's perfect. Rode last night and the ear plugs actually make my shi**y stock pipes sound louder.
one thing adds to another and another and another then the damn cycle begins.next thing you know its completely diffrent.espically when you pull up to the light and the guy next to you has the exact same bike as you (grrrrr).
I am not saying dont mod your bike. Quite the opposite, I love modded bikes. I am just not a fan of this particular bike with windshields, saddle bags, and the over inflated looking two up seats. Thats just my opinion about the bob.
