The tc96 is actually around 9.5:1 compression. Going to 9.6:1 would definitely be living life in the fast lane.

10:1 should be fine as long as you can get 93 oct gas in your area.

With an Andrews 37 cam, you want to stay Below 10:1. That cam doesn't like compression higher than that. Mine is at 9.8:1 and it runs really good. In high humidity and 90 degree weather with 93 octane, I get a very slight ping when I roll on the throttle. My bike has a carb though.

I read somewhere that stock compression on a 96" was around 9.2:1 but I could be wrong.

Red...9.2:1 is what is advertised by the moco. I believe in some chats with some head-guys (LMAO), they say it really works out closer to 9.5:1.

If you do bump it up, be sure to have him install compression releases. Your starter will thank you for it.

Yes! Definatly have the CR's done! Mine hates gas stops. It will kick back every time if I do not use the CR's

I'm going with 9.6:1, I know I can get more power from higher compression but I don't want to take it to that level. My mild build will be more forgiving on cheap fuel,"sometimes ya gotta get what is available" run cooler and have less stress on my weak crank. Just how I want it for the FL. heat.
