Rub marks from rear seat

Anyone have a good suggestion on how to avoid the rub marks left by the rear seat bumpers? I like to ride solo most of the time but, I do swap that rear seat on/off occasionally. I've heard that felt might work...anyone tried that?

I'm not interested in putting a rear fender bib on..
