I have some kind if white discoloration on the top brushed metal thingy on my vtwin. I did some digging around and I believe it is called a Rocker Box. This "defect" is very annoying to me and I want to replace it. Do you know if I can get just the Chrome Rocker Cover ($92.00 each) or do I have to get it and the Chrome Lower Rocker Housing ($100 each) as well?
Just a follow up.... I went out and looked at my bike now that I can see the rocker cover comes in a top and bottom. Just the top piece needs to be replaced. as the discoloration didn't go down to the second piece. I imagine you can replace one without the other?
Update... I have tried some basic household cleaners, WD40, nail polish remover but nothing is even remotely getting it off. I'll try and get a photo of the residue so maybe you can see what I am talking about.
Here is a photo of the discoloration. It is smooth on the metal... not raised or crusty. If I could just get it off I would be happy to save the $200 plus install fees at the dealer. But I can't look at it on my bike anymore.
Can anyone suggest some kind of cleaner or polish or something to try that I could buy locally?
