Torx Wrenches are a must.... They are usually pricy too, but I stumbled uppon some from Sears that were "eco" something. I wish I could remember more, but they were a basic set and have been through hell with no issues. Also the same set from Craftsman was 40 bucks and these were only 15.
i read the manual when i got my FXDC and as i understand it the first service should be done by the H-D dearlship to keep the warranty. page 147 in the owners manual. after that we can do the service ourself.
is that the way anyone else understands it?
I did have them do the first service on my '08 Wide Glide and yea 1600 miles in 2 months is about what i pulled as well. Once you get on it's hard to get off.
I also took my 09FXDC in for the 1st service thinking along the lines of the tp prevoius posters, but i have a manul and sears yellow jack ,and tools so i'll be doing it myself for now on.
also it u can do it get a J&S my yellow jack scares me lol you also need the adapters for a dyna to used the jack
Well if that's true, then I'm screwed... I was under the impression that if you kept the receipts to verify that you did the changes at the propper intervals then you were in the clear.
Not worried about it though.... Good ol' American engineering
