Default Side Mount Broke

Anyone else had any issues with a Road 6 Customs side mount plate bracket breaking?

Guess I got lucky as it must of broke as I was pulling in the driveway and when I put the bike on the side stand it fell and was hanging buy the LED frame wires.

So needless to say I am looking for a new plate mounting options. I am sure they would probally send me a new one but dont think I want to put one back on my bike. Had it broke going down the road it could of gotten in the back tire or hit someone behind me.

You can either do as thedon says and use another one like you have with a rubber grommet in the hole with washers on both sides for a rubber mount or I am thinking of trying one of these http://kcint.zoovy.com/product/50-81...Y_12_VOLT.html
You can also get it without the taillight for only $29.00 it is made of polished stainless steel which could be painted black and looks to be an axle mount.

That one looks nice but I want a Horizontal one.

Kury has a new Horizontal one that looks nice. The mounting hardware is just available today for the 06+ Dynas so might try it. It connects to the frame.

I've been looking at vertical side mounts lately, there sure seem to be a lot of options for '05 and older Dynas, but not newer. What changed in the way they mount?

bberck, I noticed that when I had mine on the LR, it vibrated like no tomorrow. I was afraid that it would do exactly what yours did. Glad to hear no damage was done.

The best fix I found was to trade it in for a Road King...LOL

Some mount to the frame and the new frame is larger. Some mount to the axle and the new axle is larger.

Think I am going to go with the Kury mount. I like that its curved (only Horizontal mount ive seen that is curved) and it mounts to the swingarm. They just came out with the mount for the 06+ Dynas.
