Default extended forks

Ok, just came in from sitting with my 06 Dyna FXDI, I had some things to do to the FLHT, but as I sat there resting, I was looking at the Dyna and started thinking about my 1971 superglide..I had 3 inch over tubes on it with a 21 inch wheel and XLR handlebars, got me thinking about doing that to Slugo, sat and thought about it, called the wife out and asked her, she has lived with all my mods on bikes, hers and mine, some worked, some did not, she said no, But?? has anybody done anything like that to a late model Superglide?? 3 inch extended tubes would kick the wheel out about 1 1/2 inch and raise the front of bike up about 1 1/2 inch, added to a 21 inch wheel and your looking at about a 2 1/2 inch move both ways. as i remember it didn't affect the handleing much at all, but I know that this is going to cost me a few bucks, things aren't cheap like they was back in the 70s, so any thoughts on this out there??[sm=biker.gif]

I have an FXDI35 and was also thinking about the same mods. Sent you an email earlier Bear64 so if you do it, a photo would be nice, then again I might send you an updated photo.
JamieWG's looks real good

I am thinking about extending the forks in the future also.

Does anyone know what the stock rake is on the 2006 frame?

I'm thinking 4" extended with a little more rake (no more than 10°) would look sweet!

29 degree rake is stock for Street Bob. Wide Glide is 34 degrees plus 2 degrees from the trees, for a total of 36 degrees rake.

JamieWG, can you pass on the specs of your front wheel. Is it of the new rounded type design (usure of the tech name) or the standard type?
Thanks

Rounded type is called the Profile Laced Wheel, I think... mine is just a standard laced wheel.

JamieWg, thanks for the reply. Have got onto that engieering mob and pricing is underway to do the mods. Just one other question...Did you have to purchase extended springs and inner pipes for the forks?
