try and sell the bike you have now for more than the tradein you were offered. And shop around my dealer sold to me under MSRP with accessories installed. Some dealers actually will deal with you. Especially if you have financing already, and are willing to buy one off the floor, but will walk if you don't like the deal.
Oh yeah get the Harley. How could you be happy with a Honda?
Now go buy it. You will rule the road. men will respect you. chicks will dig you. You'll cruise with your head held high, and with no regrets or second guessing yourself.
The '06 Dynas are awesome. Read the reviews. The reliability problems are a thing of the past.
pops got a 2002 vtx 1800 c, i got a street bob, friend got a heritage softail. big tank on the vtx makes a lot of bike feel small, fit and finish on harley second to none compared to the metric and as far as power goes vtx a little more but withe the gearing i bet the bob would the 1800 a run for its money, also it got a 6 speed.
One of my very best old friends has a vtx 1800. Good fast, shaft drive bike. But exactly like you said, the fit and finish is no where near as nice as a Harley.
Buy a slightly used Harley that someone has already stuck the extra chrome and goodies on but only rode to bike nights.
Take the extra $ and buy the wife the Jacuzzi.
Best of both worlds!
I have really made up my mind to get the Harley just for the simple fact that when I walk in to the Honda dealer and look around nothing in there "calls to me" I can't really explain it but when I see that street bob it just says to me "I was made just for you lets go for a ride" that is the best way I can describe it.
joe, take it from a former metric guy. if you ever get the harley, you will look back at this post and laugh your self silly. i have my first harley bought it in may- i never really understood thye whole HD thing. after having the harley for just a few day's it was like a whole new life. i'm not saying i went biker- but having a harley is something one has to experience. it's weird. trust us get the harley, ride a few days then come back and post us. you won't be sorry.
