Joe, not for me. Been on HD for 40 years..............never impressed with the Japanese motorcycles. And as you yourself pointed out when you walked into the Honda dealer, nothing "called to me." You have to be aware on some level there is absolutely a difference! You even mentioned "I can't explain it." Perhaps in the future, you will come to understand.

You could have gotten yourself a 2006 Street Bob for about 12 to 13 grand. You did mention that your wife alotted you 16 grand. Too bad! Hope you still enjoy the Honda. I would have also opted for a Honda if I couldn't afford the Harley.
If I could not afford the HD I would not have bought a bike. There was never a question for me, I never even looked at or considered anything else.
