I was at my local dealer the other day to get my first service on my '06 Bob and also get SE AC and a download. But when I came to pick up the bike I was told that they hadn't been able to do the download because my bike was apparently blocked. They were going to contact someone in HD to hear what this was all about, because they had never seen this before. I was also told that I might need to buy the SERT instead, to get the most out of my new pipes and SE AC.
Apparently the computer part of the EFI was blocked. That was the message they got when they tried to download Stage 1 for me. They thought that maybe this was something new HD had done to prevent people from tampering with it. But then why sell the SERT if that's what they're trying to do. Just doesn't make sense to me. Sounds almost like the dealer is trying to push a more expencive solution. But I find that hard to belive too, because they have always treated me good and they have a really good reputation.
At least I've done 1000 miles on my bike and can finally floor it. Gotta find the good parts of you life and enjoy them, I say.
