Max operating temp?
I was at Bikes Blues & BBQ this weekend and my 08' Street Bob got VERY hot.
outside temp only around 70degrees
Finally found a spot to shut her down
after a couple of minutes it read 306 degrees.
Took it out the next day after letting it idle for awhile,
did some stop and go for awhile and didn't have any problems,
but temp was still up around 265.

Put AMSOIL in it... damn if it didn't drop the temp about 10degrees (home to shop--228deg. Shop to home--218deg).Don't know what kind of synthetic I had in it before... but it wasn't in terrible condition. I still feel better having changed it out though. You live, you learn.
Thanks a hoops for all the information.
Mike
