I bought heated gloves last year. They didn't work that well for me. The heating elements are on the top of the fingers. When my fingers are around the grips the heating elements loose contact with my skin and they don't warm. I have to flex my fingers out to get heat. It may be the brand. They're not the HD gloves.

On the other hand (no pun intended) I do have a heated jacket liner and it works great! I love riding in the cold when I have the heat.

My face and my hands are the 2 things that get cold in the winter. Thermal underwear, jeans, boots and a long sleeve shirt with jacket do good for the rest of me.
A neoprene mask works good on my face so problem solved there but I have never found any gloves to keep my hands warm. I've also tried those hand warmer things that hunters use and it helped a little but not good enough.

Hell, I just grab a couple handfuls of heat shield and/or engine when I'm stopped.

I've never owned a pair of heated gloves, but a friend has the heated grips (on a BMW) and they work great. The wiring is inside the handlebars, and its a no-fuss solution.

If your hands are really sensitive to the cold, try both heated grips and heated gloves.

If you've never been here, give this site a look:

What brand were they (so we know what NOT to buy)?

Presuming your riding then you must have to stop to carry out this activity, or do you pull along side any old ladies and ambush them, which of course would make any one jump.

I've got heated gloves and jacket liner with a heat troller. Best money ever spend on cold weather gear. I can't tell you how many dollars I've wasted on gloves and wind deflectors on the bars. They just don't cut it for me. Heated grips in addition to the other would be icing on the cake, but not required.

If you want to keep the extremities warm, you have to keep the core warm first. So, a vest/jacket liner and gloves are the minimum IMO.

I have the heated HD gloves. Granted, they're a bit of a hassle but I'll guarantee you if you ride in the winter they're worth every bit of the hassle.

Thanks for all the info, Mike!

Sadly, it looks as though Widder may have gone out of business. When you go
to their site, none of the menu links work and there is a message at the top
of the page saying..
