Want to go longer without changing wiring, which apes would be the best for what I want? I dont know any brands of apes, just the mini apes i have from harley. Thanks.
You can never go wrong with Paughco. I know they're not in vouge with alot of these guys, but IMHO, they are the best and only choice for aftermarket bars. How much taller you can go without swapping cables and wiring, I have no idea. But I wouldn't think there's any more than two inches TOPs in the factory stuff, even with creative routing.
Are they internally wired now? You should see how much 'slack' in the wiring you have now. It's a little work, but you can feed a bit of the main harness (under the seat) and pull on it by the neck for a bit of stretch.
I have cruiser performance 16" bars on my 06 WG. I had to get 8" longer cables and extend the wiring when I installed them. If your trying not to buy longer cables then you can only go about 2" at the most.
