New/Old Slip-on mufflers
I bought a used pair of Vance & Hines slip-ons for my FXDC from an ebay member. It was a risk but they arrived in beautiful condition and shined up like a slightly used penny. I haven't gotten to ride them yet because it's been raining for two days, but they sure sound good. Best $75 investment so far I've made for this bike.
If they stay looking and sounding good and my mileage and performance stay the same, I doubt I'll ever change the air cleaner or do the download. I'm happy with the amount of power I have. I'm just a geezer and happy to ride.

If you got some straighshots for $75 and they are to your liking, you did well. I bought a set brand new for half price ($150) a couple of years ago and really enjoyed them.
As far as the stage 1 components, if you don't do it for the power, think about doing it for the bike. It'll help it breathe better, run better, and run cooler.
