Same way as everything else . . .money and effort!!!!!
So has anyone ever done a write-up for changing to mids on a WG? I know I have to drill holes in the inner and outer primary but where exactly? Is there a template somewhere? A list of parts? I can't find any actual information online.

I wish it was that easy. You're going to have to get a new inner and outer primary. The mid control IP and OP actually form a tunnel that the shift shaft runs through, that's sealed with a round gasket where the two halves meet.
EDIT: OK, here's a couple of pictures that I swiped off of other threads here, that conveniently have arrows pointing to what I'm talking about. Those two round surfaces mate together with a round gasket to form a seal and keep the primary oil in, and the shifter shaft runs through the tunnel that they form.
Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner! Game over. We have a winner!
You've got that right Pianoman. The Original Wide Glide. Definitely my favorite factory stock HD. At least if you only count the ones that were manufactured in my lifetime.
Nice 4 speed - Shovelhead Wide Glide <above>
Garage/Back Yard Built (Panhead) Wide Glide - before the factory offered or built one
Nothing wrong with an EVO
