Default Pause when starting

Lately i noticed that it takes a itty bit longer to start the bike. When i hit the start button it pauses about a second then start. Sometimes it would crank once, twice or even three times then finally start. I checked my battery and the connection is good. Any ideas? The bike is an 07. Do you think the battery is going bad?

may want to get it load tested. If it is two + years old there is a good chance it is.

Mine is an 07 and it's starting to do the same thing. When I hit the switch, it'll turn over once real quick, pause, and then start right up. Battery is 3 years old next month so I figure it's time to get a new one - just haven't done it yet. I usually don't go far this time of year and rarely stop somewhere and shut it down before coming back home. So, if it dies, it's likely to be dead before I leave home. However, usually when it has warmed up and I've ridden a little ways, it'll crank right up without the pause.

Did you put a voltmeter on the battery? My guess is that you need a new one. My Wide Glide was doing the same thing. New battery. Problem solved.

BTW, it was the original battery...on an '02. So, IMHO, shell out the extra bucks and get an OEM battery. [EDIT: I put the new battery in yesterday]
