The oem battery on my 05 is getting a little weak,Whats the pro's+ con's on the new gel Battery's?

last longer, do not leak... cons... cost about 10 bucks more... I run them in all my scoots (except for the cafe)

More efficient, less maintenance, and can be mounted in different positions, All pro's compared to the old style liquid acid batterys.

You do know it's Gel Cell battery, right?

Optima seems like a good battery.

Are you asking about the Absorbed Glass Matting type battery or a gell acid type? The stock battery is AGM and is made by, last time I looked, East Penn. I'd stick with the stock.
