I've got a 08 Super Glide and I'm thinking of just taking the speedometer off for now. Are there any electrical issues or other issues concerned with the bike that may be effected by this? I'm running turn signals still but those might be coming off soon too.
You may throw a code, but you won't know it. I feel you will go through hell claiming any warranty issues without accurate, and validated mileage, or your ability to see warning of potential issues from warning lights or codes. I also think unaccountable mileage will have consequences when you go to sell or trade-in the bike.
On my XJ750 cafe i built i ran no speedo, i hated it!!! everytime i passed a cop my *** puckered wondering if i was going to get popped... also check city laws i know in some states if you do not have a speedo they will impound your ride
