I noticed looking closely at HOG magazine this month that the CVO Fat Bob bars are different than a regular FXDF. I had never noticed that before.

Default thanks

thanks a lot. you've been more than helpful. i am definitly looking for the gliding/cruising type of feeling. i'm 6'4" and the stock bars over time just make my back hurt. i want something where i can just chill out and enjoy the ride. i've always liked the look of the beach bars

i also noticed the cvo fat bob bars are different in this hog magazine. i have yet to see one of those new cvo's in person to check it out though

I took the Beach Bars for a 3 day ride through the Monongahela, George Washington & Jefferson Nation Forest, then up the Blue Ridge Parkway... I'd say the handle bars rode very comfortably.

What I liked about the bars was... what I'd call a 'gliding' feeling; a very easy going, soak-it-all-in cruising type of experience.
But, that’s not to say that these bars lacked any thing in how the bike handled the twisters... almost as crisp & tight on the forward pegs as the stock bars. There's always trade-offs when you start changing things.

I think a key for any rider is to try different things. What might work well for one might turn out to be torture for some one else. Bars, seats, pegs & boards... there are many combinations; you have to find what works for you.

Any setup that allows you to bend your elbows, lean over the tank & scootch forward as you push the bar into a turn will always give satisfactory performance in the twisters. I never have understood 'apes' for this reason & never plan to try em.

The Narrow Beach Bar is a Harley Genuine Motor Part, #56857-05... @ $200. I got mine off EBay for way less. You don't have to spend a lot of money to achieve a sweet setup. Make it functional... then make it pretty.

Road King brake line, Street Bob clutch & throttle. The stock length of control cables are long enough, dis-assembling/re-assembling the plugs is all that's needed.

Hey nice bars, but who's fender on the back. Something you made up or aftermarket.

Default My Fat Bob Rear Fender

I made it, here's how:

Got two Dyna fenders off of eBay... the cheapest I could find, cut one down the middle & bolted each half to the struts.
From the second I cut a 3" wide strip out of the center, saddled it onto the halves & tack welded it in place.
The assembly was removed from the bike, more tack welds were added, @ 1” apart. All the welds were then ‘knocked down’ with a sander, covered with fiber-glass & ‘smoothed out’ with bondo. The fender was also trimmed to clear the upper belt guard & the rear master cylinder at allow for 1.75” lowering blocks.
The paint is from a rattle can of Barbeque Black… not an exact match, but close enough for me.

The frame strut bolt hole spacing on the Fat Bob is the same as the other Dyna’s I got the fenders from, but the strut covers will not work with the Fat Bob shocks.
For rear lighting I’m using the Run/Stop/Turn module & a side mount plate holder with LED bolts witch are lit on the tail light circuit.
