Are the rocker covers clear coated? What do you polish them with. Also noticed that the bolts on the engine are oxidizing, what do you use on them? What about the machined cooling fins on jugs?

A tank lift gives nice clearance for front rocker cover cleaning. Mines are chrome so I wash with soap and water and polish with a good chrome cleaner. I'd scrub those bolts with some WD-40 and an old tooth brush.

are your rockers chrome or aluminum? You have to know at least that much before you attempt to clean them.

Are they really shiny or look more like your triple trees (those things your handle bars and headlight is attached to)?

If shiny, they're chrome...and you use chrome polish. If they look like your front end, use aluminum polish such as Mother's.

All chrome can be nicely cleaned with isopropyl rubbing alcohol that is cheap and available at any drugstore or supermarket. This includes heat shields, rocker covers, lifter blocks, chrome primary, etc. etc. After cleaning, you can polish with your favorite polish.

S&S Cleaner and Polish. Sprays on and does a nice job on chrome and painted surfaces. Quick and easy.

Looks like your covers are bare so the aluminium polish of your choice. I use Maguiars which works well.

I apply aluminum polish with my fingers and then polish with a microfiber cloth. I use my fingers to apply polish because it gives me more control of where I the polish goes.
