21" wheel width
so if i put a wide glide conversion on the SG, can i use a rim from a wide glide or softail? the kit comes with a spacer for the disc, but i am planning up up sizing the rim to a 21". there are a lot more options, cheaper ones too, for a wide hub 21" but i am just wondering if it will bolt on. i don't know if the axle is the same diamter either. maybe it won't even fit in the holes in fork. anyway, any help with this would be appreciated.

If you do the math, you'll discover the overall diamter of the 21" and 19" wheel/tire package is almost the same. It all depends on which tire you choose.
Since the forks are wider, the fender, axle, and axle spacers are longer to accomodate the added width. But the hub is the same. You could use your current axle and spacers to match your forks. The brakes are also the same.

yeah i was going to use a lower side wall on the tire, change should be under a 1/4".
reese, what year is your bike? how did you get that super wide rear tire on there? love the mods you've done, i'd love to pick your brain as much as you can tolerate
