Mascman, actually I just took one of them to work and got a couple of nuts from there. I got some 5/16-24 lock nuts and also some 5/16-24 castle nuts. Not sure if I should use the lock nuts or not. I'm afraid the lock nuts may have too much tension and snap the stud. I think I may just use the castle nuts and use lock washers. Either way I have what I need to fix it now.
Seriously? You would order two nuts from Harley instead of just taking one to the hardware store and matching it up?
Make sure to order the Screamin' Eagle stainless ones!
plus 1, its nuts and bolts, just get stainless everyone carries them, Home depot carries them.......those dudes at the dealership will be laughing back there behind the closed door.
