Default has anyone put lowrider bars on a superglide?

I am picking up my first Harley in a week. Guess that makes me a virgin (in the Harley world at least).I've ridden Japanese sport bikes for 20 years. I am a little older now, so I am looking forward to the Harley experience. The bike is a 2006 fire red pearl Superglide. $13,000 out the door, plus some store credits and discounts. I want to change the handle bars to the Lowrider bars with the pull back risers. My salesman is telling me that this will put the handlebar mounted guages of the superglide at a severe angle making the guages difficult to see. The mount for the superglide guages has a fixed angle(can't be changed). I am 5'7 so I am thinking that my line of sight will be pretty low anyway, so it shouldn't be much of a problem to me. Has anyone tried this set-up or seen this set-up??? I welcome ALL thoughts and opinions. Are there any aftermarket mounts that fit the Dyna stock guages (speedometer AND tach)?

Jandpcycles.com has a mount that will work for you. I looked into it too, but decided to go with mini apes instead.

Good luck

Mini apes are the way to go with the Superglide speedo. They look good and are very comfortable. Just my opinion..

yeah, I may wind up going with the mini apes, but I really wanted to try the riser look. MrKicks, I didn't see any flat guage mounts , only angled ones. are you telling me that JandP has flat mounts. If so what part number or how do i find it????

Sorry bud, but I have no idea on the part number. When I was looking into it, someone on here did send me a part number, but I have no clue what it is. One other thing, when I 1st put on the mini apes with just the speedo, it looked very funky, I wound up adding the tach and chrome housing and it made all the difference in the world.

I was on a ride in June, a super glide with standard bars , had pullback riseron it, the speedo, end up with a straight up and down look, still can see the speedo, I was told you could do it and end up with wide glide bars,

i put drag bars and pull back risers on my '98 SG and i mounted the speedo to the eyebrow bolts. it's a little forward of the stock position but not bad. keeps the speedo from pointing straight up as it would mouted to the pull back risers. i bought some extended stainless bolts and some steel sleeves/tube from the hardware store, cut and painted the tube and elongated the holes in the speedo bracket to make up for the slight differnce in center dimensions for the eyebrow mount. cost me about 5 bucks to remount. i would like to figure out a differnt way to mount the speedo so its not way out there and so noticable. wish i could figure out tank mounting somehow or find a smaller speedo/odometer and matching bracket that i could stick under the bars or something... but im lost as to what i need. anyway, this is one solution for your problem that might be worth considering.

The 2006 speedo mount is actually one piece, which is also your bar mount.

For putting drag bars on my brother's Super, we bought the speedo mount from an older model, which was seperate from the bar mount.

Then we bought the guage mount that bolts the speedo mount to the risers on the bars.

Do a search, I had a post with part numbers, etc.

Mud,
I found it by searching masc as the author and speedometer or risers as the subject. also mud, I know we talked about a seat awhile back. I wound up getting a stock lowrider seat from a bud of mine.
Oh yeah, see all u guys next week after I get back from Jamaica!!! it's tough but somebody's got to go.
